MMM goes into Hibernation Well that's the end of another busy year for the Mourne Mountain Marathon. We will go into hibernation for a few months now, only surfacing to stretch our legs and, perhaps, eye up new bits of Mourne bog which would make interesting running. We will still pick up emails routinely via the wifi connection in our cave. For those of you who are keen to book your flights/accomodation/weekend-pass for next year - the date will be 18/19th September 2010. This site will be updated and entries open at the start of May. Thanks again to everyone involved in the event and our sponsors. MP 11/10/09
Winners Photos and routes published Hi As promised the winners photos and routes are now available in the Results section. If anyone has any corrections or great photos please contact us. MP 26/9/09
Results Published The final results and split times are now available in the Results section. The splits are also loaded into Splitsbrowser for your amusement, bewilderment and obsessive analysis - Have fun. We've got lots of pictures from various sources which we'll get uploaded in the next few days (unless we run out of server space). MP 22/9
McNeilly and McCrickard Win Elite
Another fantastic weekend in the Mourne Mountains finished with Deon McNeilly and Eamon McCrickard winning the Elite class with a total time of 11hrs30min. 2nd place team Billy Reed and Gerry Kingson were only a few minutes behind them and 3rd place went to Jonathan McCloy and Paul Weir.
Winners in the B, C and D classes were Mark Alexander and Jim McCormick, Dil Wetherill and Andy Chatterton and Darren Asquith and Mark Asquith respectively.
Results for each day and overall are in the results section of this site however these are still PROVISIONAL as we have to do the usual sorting out of team changes and adjudications. We hope to have this completed by the end of the week and Final results and split-times will be published. We will also upload the splits for each day onto www.splitsbrowser.org.uk which allows you to compare your split times graphically against other teams.
We would like to thank all the marshals and other helpers who gave up their weekend to help out; our sponsors Lowe Alpine and Jackson Sports and also Frank of Mourne Camping at www.bloodybridge.com for providing us with such a superb location for the overnight camp and of course all of you who competed.
Finally, whether you are a regular MMMer or a new-comer, the Mourne MM is only here for you – please feel free to give us constructive feedback through the Forum and, most importantly, spread the word about our great event and do come back next year.

Last Minute Dash For Entries
With just a week and a half to go until the big day, there has been a last minute flurry of activity. The Elite and B classes still have lots of spaces and are wide open for some great prize opportunities. We would certainly recommend anyone who has done well in the C class previously to consider moving up in to the B where we are confident you will have a more rewarding experience. The C class is stuffed, as usual, with people queuing for places – contact us if you are having trouble.
Don’t forget to please read the Final Instructions, the Rules and Safety info even if you have done this event before. There have been changes and it could save you precious time out on the course or even disqualification. It will also save us having to repeat the same instruction 200 times on Saturday morning.
If you haven’t used the SI gear before please read that section closely and, perhaps, visit the SPORTident website to familiarise yourself with the equipment.
Finally, please check back at this website as late as possible next week – even on Friday evening – for any last minute instructions.
Final Instructions Published The Final instructions have been published here in the About section of this site. We recommend you download the printable PDF as it is easier to read than the web page. The Event Centre is Tollymore Forest park. If you have any questions please email us through the Contact page. Have fun.
