21ST-22ND SEPTEMBER 2013
Welcome to the Mourne Mountain Marathon website. 2014 will mark our 35th event and we hope to make it every bit as challenging and memorable as the last 34.
The Mourne MM is Ireland's only two day endurance and navigation event held each year in the beautiful mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland. It is run entirely on a voluntary and non-profit basis by a team with many years experience of organising and competing in this type of event.
during which it will be regularly updated with news, instructions, entry information and results. All the information you need should be in this website but if you have any questions please This website will be active from May to October contact us using the form or directly via the email address below.
The NEWS section below will be used to flag any new content or changes to the site in the months ahead.

MMM goes into hibernation
Well, that's it for another year. This website will be be dormant now until next spring when it will be reborn.
The next event is 20th/21st September 2014.
In the meantime we will be beavering away behind the scenes to develop new aspects to the event and we may look for some comment and input via the facebook forum.
Thank you to everyone who helped out this year, to all the landowners, Tollymore NOC and NI Water, our sponsors Lowe Alpine and Jackson Sports, to all our followers on facebook and twitter and, of course, to the competitors who make the event what it is.
See you next year
We have finally uploaded the spilt times to Splitsbrowser for those of you who want to analyse your route choices more closely - see the
The Elite Day 1 splits have also been updated to include the Wildcard control 135.
For some other amusement, check out Fiona Hannon’s video of her C-Class adventure on you tube
We are nearly done for the season – one more meeting and some final postings on the website and facebook before we put this thing to bed. Please check back once more in a few weeks time to see our closing message and any pointers for next year - we are already thinking of ways to make it even better.
For an entertaining account of the weekend from an amateur competitor, see
Mark Robson's Blog We have also started uploading pictures to our flickr page. It will take us a few days to get them all on the site. All Over
Well everyone was home for 20:30 with still some daylight to spare.
The published results still need checking and we have to do some spreadsheet fiddling to sort out the much vaunted Vet Handicap. Over the next few days we publish photos on flickr and a full report on the event plus route cards for all courses and pictures of the winners' routes.
In the meantime enjoy the results and the facebook commentary and please share your experiences.
Thanks to everyone who helped out over the weekend - remember, the MMM is a totally voluntary event - and a big thank you to Tollymore NOC and NI Water for accommodating us at such fantastic venues.
Saturday afternoon update
At 5pm we have about 75% of the teams into the campsite. Most report haveing a good day out on the hill. The day started with low mist and cloud but mild and dry and all starting to clear early afternoon.
We are publishing results every hour in the Results section And there are lots of photos on facebook Friday Update
We're all set and the weather is picking up nicely. Your friends and relatives will be able to follow your exploits on this website, facebook and twitter. Results and photos will be available in the
RESULTS section. Have a great weekend !! 4 Days To Go
Just a few more days to go and the tension is building - at least in the organising team. There has been a fair amount of update info and chit chat on the
facebook page but I'll repeat some important points here: 1) Rules 1 and 2 are paramount - teams must stick together, visit every control together and carry all their gear throughout. 2) Please allow extra time on Saturday morning for the 30min bus journey from Tollymore to the Start. We have a lot of people to transfer so get on and off the bus promptly. 3) If you need to retire from the course let us know as soon as possible via the MMM mobile (number will be on your route cards) or via a marshal. In all cases we need to know your TEAM Number, NAMES and WHERE you intend to go - Tollymore, Campsite or directly home. Be sure to return your dibber. The Tollymore Centre will be staffed all weekend for car key and gear pickup. 4) We hope to have limited internet connectivity from the campsite so we will upload results and pictures on Saturday evening. The MMM Mobile number will be published here for the weekend. If there are any last minute changes please email them through or let us know on Saturday. Have a great weekend.
