The nearest town to the Event Centre is Attical. There is plenty of camping, B&B and hotel accomodation in the Mourne area.
Basic camping facilities have been arranged with a farmer in Attical for the Friday night. Facilities include a field for camping and parking, tap water and use of a toilet/washroom at the back of the house. The campsite is 1.4km from theEvent Centre and is free to MMM Competitors. Booking is not required although we would like a rough estimate of numbers to expect so please email us if you intend to use the campsite. Full details of the campsite loaction will be published nearer to the date.
The Mourne Hostel, in Attical is very close to the Event Centre and they will be pleased to provide quality accomodation and service for MMM competitors - including continental and the traditional slap-up fry breakfast for the early starters . In fact, the MMM Committee will be staying there in the run up to the event. There is also a good hostel in Attical on the south side of the Mournes called the (aka Cnocnafeola Centre).
The MMM bus will travel via Newcastle to Attical and the campsite on Friday night. It will also do a run from Newcastle to Attical on Saturday morning to pick up anyone staying along the route. Please see the Travel page for details and to book a seat.
